Can not be replaced

As the month of November comes to a close, I would be remiss not to mention Thanksgiving.  I have maintained my mantra that I will not allow anyone or anything to steal my joy.  My wallet on the other hand was stolen just a few days before the holiday. Ten minutes after noticing my wallet was gone, I look in my rear view mirror and I see a huge truck swerving to not rear end my car. I have no idea why the driver of the truck was not paying attention to traffic, but my son was peacefully sleeping in his car seat on the backseat of my car. I experienced a super injection of Thanksgiving into a moment of discontent. I was so thankful that my child was not harmed. My credit cards and eventually the cash can be replaced. My Thanksgiving prayer was being thankful for the things in life that can not be replaced. I am always so very thankful for my family (inside and outside my home) and friends. I am especially thankful for my son, who has brought us all so much happiness and completed the once missing part of my life.

Vitiligo Point of View
I had a reminder this month that I am truly comfortable in my skin. I was offered another analogy for the evolving design patterns of my skin tone. My "Vanilla Chocolate Swirl" pattern apparently looks like a sexy leopard print when topped with black fabric. I like it. Thanks for the analogy.

Thanks for all the well wishes and concern about my wallet. I am very grateful that my son and I are safe. My focus is not on the loss of my wallet, but on my gratitude for the love in my life, especially that of my child. This positive attitude also translates into why I see my vitiligo as I do.

As we enter the holiday season, I hope that you don't allow anyone or anything to steal your joy. Just as worry is contagious, so is optimism and confidence, so surround yourself with positive people and do not wallow in stress. As for me, I'm embracing the "sexy" patterns of my skin...No wallowing in stress for me, I’ve cancelled my credit cards, I got a “do over” on my driver’s license photo and I needed a new wallet anyway.
