Make Your Work, Work for You

I have been managing work and life very well.  I have been very busy managing several projects and experiencing wonderful life changes. I am in my comfort zone when I am busy managing, planning, scheduling, and strategic sourcing, the essence of project management.  Your work should not define you, however when you enjoy it, you do not mind owning it. I have confirmed in my own life the fact that when you are doing what you love to do, it does not feel like work.  I am anxious to get back to Corporate America, but I am excited to be utilizing my skills right now. However, my next big project is very exciting and will pull me away from the normal grind for several weeks. Anticipation in this case is so much fun. You can have a similar experience by planning your next vacation or economonical "staycation", so you also will have something to look forward to.

Vitiligo Point of View
Networking and establishing new business involves a lot of hand-shaking.   I am a social butterfly so I enjoy this aspect of my work. The interesting fact is that although my Vitiligo is most pronounced on my hands, it has been a complete non-issue when I am networking. My theory as to why my Vitiligo does not hinder me in a business social environment is because I am in no way self-conscious, I am highly self-confident, and I am genuinely enjoying myself during that time. With any self-image issue you may have, you have to own it.  Know your strengths and follow those. If you were uncomfortable speaking in public before Vitiligo, you will be mortified to do it afterwards. In my case, I enjoyed public speaking before and Vitiligo now gives me just another platform from which to speak.
