There is nothing like your mother’s love. I can not remember a time, when my mother was not telling me how beautiful or smart I was. Even during my awkward years with what I dubbed my “Bugs Bunny teeth”, I was absolutely gorgeous to my mom. I get a compliment on my smile at least once a day, so maybe mom knew what she was talking about.
Whatever you tell a child, they will remember. I don’t know how I would survive my life with Vitiligo if I did not have my mother’s words in the back of my head. My mom says I where Vitiligo like a fashion statement. Thanks to my mother, I do. Vitiligo is a part of me and it becomes a part of my fashion statement. Being beautiful is ninety percent confidence. I am grateful to my beautiful mother for my confidence. I am "working" this Vitiligo ladies, in the same manner that I "work" any outfit. A parent’s influence will have a profound effect on a child’s adult life.
