Before this skin disorder, I would practically ignore men and their compliments. Now, I take it all in with a smile. I still have to let them down easy because I’m off the market, but they appreciate a simple thank you.
When the weather gets warm, I like to tan. I have had some success with sun therapy. I expose my white areas to sun. The goal is to get really pink, but not burn. It took a bit of trial and error, but for me it takes anywhere from forty-five minutes to an hour to start to get pink. More than that and I will burn. The lighter your natural complexion, the less amount of sun you need. Not all Vitiligo suffers can do this, because their white skin will simply burn. Lately, in the summer, I’m not just vanilla and chocolate, I’m actually Neapolitan flavored (vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry). My pink spots eventually will start to brown (repigment), which is the overall goal of my tan.
There have been studies that indicate that most Americans are vitamin D deprived.

That means that you probably need to be exposed to a certain amount of sun, rather you are a Vitiligo sufferer or not. If you do not care to lie out in a bikini like I do, you can accomplish the same thing by taking a short walk in the sun, or working outside in your garden for few minutes. Vitamin D is not absorbed through glass, so driving in your car will not give you the Vitamin D that you need.
Get your vitamin D, appreciate all compliments, and create some fun ways to make a flaw seem sexy. For me, my nicknames are ice cream flavors. What is your sexy flaw nickname?

"Magnolia Stems" My arms are my flaw and I use to call them tree trunks, but alas it is a new day. Magnolia trees remind me of my home, a place that continues to live in me. So arms...I dub thee "Magnolia Stems".

I love Magnolias. Whenever I see one, I remember when I used to sit with my Great grand father under the Magnolia Tree in his front yard. He lived to be 94 years old and what a full life he had. I can only hope to be so privileged. I'm sure someone loves to have those "Magnolia Stems" wrapped around their body.
I love Magnolias. They are my favorite flowers. To you, ms. Vanilla Chocolate Swirl. What a fanastic flavorite! That;s my favorite flavorite ice crea. How wonderful you can relish in your vitilago. You are truly blessed. Thank you for uplifting us who too have flaws. My flaws are my arms also. I call them elm trees, but I like Magnolia better, for they are more beautiful.
